Alright, let’s just get straight to it—Adamas University, tucked away in Barasat (that’s basically the fringes of Kolkata), is not your run-of-the-mill private college.
People talk about “multidisciplinary education”—honestly, that’s just code for “you can study pretty much anything here.”
The campus? Massive. We’re talking a 120-acre sprawl with all the bells and whistles: high-tech labs, sports grounds, chill hangout spots—heck, there’s probably a nook for every type of student.
Quick backstory: Adamas popped up thanks to The Adamas University Act, 2014 and is run by the RICE Education Group. UGC-approved, so no worries about sketchy credentials. You want choices? They’ve got ‘em: engineering, law, media, management, science, liberal arts—the works.
They’re super into “learning by doing.” You won’t just stare at textbooks 24/7. Picture: actual projects, research collabs, industry tie-ups, and those “real world” skills everyone keeps hyping up.
So, what can you study here? Well, the list’s a bit bonkers:
- B.Tech in all the usual suspects: CSE, ECE, Mechanical, Civil, plus cool stuff like AI & ML.
- B.Sc. in things like Biotech, Microbiology, Data Science—nerds, assemble.
- BA and MA in English, Journalism, Psychology (get your Freud on).
- BBA, MBA, B.Com (Hons)—business types, you’re covered.
- LLB, LLM, integrated law gigs.
- Pharmacy degrees, if you’re into pills and potions.
- Loads of Ph.D. options too, for the ultra-committed.
They’re rolling with the NEP 2020 rules, so you get a buffet of electives, credit transfers, and all that flexibility jazz. Basically, you can mix and match your way through college.
Admissions for 2025? Yup, open. There’s the AUAT (their own test), but they’re chill with CUET, JEE, WBJEE, CLAT, MAT, and all those national exams too.
For undergrad, you’ll need at least 50% in Class 12. Postgrad? Bachelor’s with 50% in the right stream. PhD? You know the drill: PG degree, entrance, and an interview where they size you up.
Okay, let’s talk money, ‘cause that’s what everyone’s really wondering about:
- B.Tech: ₹1.2 to ₹1.6 lakh/year
- BBA/B.Com/BA: ₹80K to ₹1.1 lakh/year
- MBA: ₹2 to ₹2.5 lakh/year
- Law courses: ₹90K to ₹1.5 lakh/year
Scholarships? Yep, and not just for brainiacs—if you’ve got financial need or did well in entrance exams, there’s hope. Girls and students from tough backgrounds can get fee waivers too.
Placements have been picking up steam lately. The placement cell actually does stuff—think job fairs, mock interviews, resume workshops, the whole shebang.
Some big names roll through for hiring: Capgemini, Cognizant, EY, HDFC Bank, BYJU’S, Infosys. Not too shabby.
Life on campus is honestly pretty sweet. Fast Wi-Fi (because, obviously), separate hostels, 24/7 security (parents love that), fancy labs, a digital library, sports, media studios, moot court for the wannabe lawyers, language labs—the works.
Food and healthcare are sorted on campus too, so you won’t be living on instant noodles alone.
Why even bother with Adamas? Well, it’s got that UGC stamp, follows the latest NEP playbook, chases after industry partnerships, and is always pushing for innovation. You’ll get a mix of solid academics and that “real world” edge everyone’s after.
Bottom line—if you want a college that’s not stuck in the Stone Age and actually cares about getting you job-ready, Adamas University’s worth a look. Engineering, media, law, business—pick your poison. Applications for 2025 are up, so if you’re keen, better jump in before the crowd does.
